The United Kingdom Department for Education on 1st February 2023, announced new policies, guidelines and procedure for recruiting international teachers, fortunately, Nigeria was part of the seven (7) countries the UK government added to their list for recruiting international teachers having assess the Nigeria standard of education and some other factors that contributed to the success of the above.
As simple and complex the policies and procedures might be, the UK government will always maintain standard. As a prospective Japa candidate aiming to relocate through the teacher’s recruitment process, you must have a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), this certification qualifies you to be eligible to teach in any school in the UK with the annual salary of £30,000 and £38,000 per annum.
Another good news is that the UK Government gave opportunity to those who might not get their QTS to come teach in the UK but their annual salary might not be as much as those who has the certificate.
The question is how do I get QTS?
To get your QTS you must have the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria Certificate (TRCN). With TRCN and other verifiable documents you can apply for your QTS.
